The second stop on the US Jobs Project Tour was in Daytona Beach, FL at the Daytona International Speedway for the Subway Jalapeno 250 NASCAR Nationwide Series race on July 6th, and the Coke Zero 400 race on July 7th.
This was a new experience for all of us, as no one in our family had ever attended a NASCAR event before. Experiencing it in a decked out red, white and blue star spangled RV made it just that more of an “American” experience.
The US Jobs Project RV was located on the Infield and we had an “inside” view of all things NASCAR/Daytona. We had an amazing view of the track from the top of the RV.
Thousands of RV’s from all over the place travel to Daytona for this American tradition- NASCAR/Daytona. The tempertures felt like a 100 degrees and there were blow up pools everywhere you turned to keep the heat at bay.
July 6th at the Subway Jalapeno 250 NASCAR Nationwide Series event there were numerous crashes and one of them being our personal favorite, Danika Patrick in the Go Daddy car, putting her out of the race for good. Kurt Busch won the Subway Jalapeno 250 NASCAR Nationwide race in his Office Depot #1 Chevrolet car.
July 7th started with an amazing concert by the award winning band TRAIN, then an exciting fly over by a B52 Bomber. The Coke Zero 400 winner — was Tony Stewart in his Office Depot Chevrolet #14 car. It was his fourth Coke Zero 400 win.
The night was topped off with the most gorgeous display of fireworks over the International Speedway.
Daytona/NASCAR is truly an American experience like no other. The jobs and revenue the Daytona International Speedway creates for the Daytona area is significant. So, next vacation, plan a trip to Daytona. We may see you there.
